Product Information: Plibrico®️ 68 SA is a mullite-based phosphate-bonded plastic refractory. It is similar in chemistry and minerology to Plibrico 68 S but contains an important enhancement. This refractory incorporates a high mullite-content aggregate in an alumina-fortified phosphate bonding matrix that utilizes the Plibrico Company’s proprietary monoaluminium phosphate. Plibrico 68 SA also features an improved aggregate sizing distribution. The improved sizing distribution gives the plastic a smoother texture which can result in improved ramming characteristics with reduced slumping. Other product attributes include:

  • High hot strength
  • Good refractoriness under load (RUL)
  • Good volume stability through its service temperature range
  • Excellent abrasion resistance
  • Good slag resistance
  • Non-wetting to aluminum
  • Reduced slumping
  • Meets ASTM classification C673 70% Alumina

Plibrico 68 SA is ordered in either Stiff (SF), Standard (SD), or Export (EX) workability to conform to installation and storage requirements.

Available Internationally As: Plico®️ 68 SA
