Evolving from the original plastic material that Plibrico pioneered in the early 20th century, this material is field tested and has withstood the test of time. Economical with great workability, this workhorse can be used for a wide variety of applications. Product attributes include:

  • Contains an air bonding agent for better low temperature strength and shrinkage control
  • Good volume stability through its temperature range
  • Good hot lad resistance – <6% at 2640°F
  • Meets ASTM classification C673 Super Duty

Product Information: Plibrico® 90 AB is Plibrico’s highest temperature standard air-bonded plastic.   This material was designed for service at the most elevated temperatures, where the low temperature strength of a chemically bonded plastic is unnecessary or phosphorus contamination is critical.   Plibrico 90 AB uses a white fused alumina aggregate with an alumina fortified air bonding matrix, the result is a more reliable and consistent plastic refractory with high refractoriness.   In addition, this material also shows excellent CO resistance and hot strength.   Product advantages include:

  • Better low temperature strength due to air-bonding agent
  • High refractoriness

refractories. Based on a high mullite aggregate and enhanced matrix, Plibrico 60 AB has been field tested and is the
go-to-material when a high service limit, thermal spall resistant plastic is required. Product attributes include:

  • Better low temperature strength and shrinkage control due to its air bonding agent
  • Good volume stability through its temperature range
  • Relatively low thermal expansion
  • Good thermal shock and spall resistance
  • Good hot load resistance <7% at 2640°F
