Product Information: Plicast® HyMOR SiC 80 KK is a low cement, 80% silicon carbide castable.   This product was developed to meet the very demanding operating conditions that can be found in boiler, burner, and incinerator applications.   Plicast HyMOR SiC 80 KK provides high thermal conductivity, along with good strength and great abrasion resistance.   The product can be pumped for large installations.   Product advantages include:

Product Information: Plicast® HyMOR® AZS KK is a low cement castable based on synthetic AZS (alumina-zirconia-silica) aggregate with a matrix further enhanced with fine silicon carbide. AZS aggregate is produce by fusing or melting alumina, zircon and silica in an electric furnace. This produces a very dense, strong, alkali resistant aggregate. Combining the enhanced aggregate with silicon carbide yields a castable with exceptional alkali vapor and alkali slag resistance. Other favorable characteristics include:

  • High density and low porosity
  • High crushing strength
  • Very good hot strength
  • Low abrasion loss <5cc
  • Moderate coefficient of thermal expansion

Plicast HyMOR AZS KK has good flow and setting characteristics allowing it to be place by vibration, casting or pumping.

Plicast® HyMOR® 70 KK is a mullite based cement castable with a modified matrix and grain sizing.   This castable was developed for applications requiring additional thermal shock resistant than our Plicast HyMOR 3100 Special KK.   Originally intended for higher temperature applications in the steel industry, its strength profile and thermal cycling characteristics make it ideal for many high temperature cyclic applications.   These characteristics include:

  • Hot strength at elevated temperatures
  • Low abrasion loss
  • 30-50% better strength retention when thermally cycled above 2200°F as compared to Plicast HyMOR 3100 Special KK
