Product Information

Plicast® AdMOR 6 KK is a 65% alumina ultra-low cement castable.   It is the andalusite aggregate system and matrix base that makes this material different and unique.   The refractory was specifically designed to optimize specific properties at elevated temperatures as compared mullite and bauxite based low and ultra-low cement castables.   Enhanced characteristics include:

  • Higher hot strengths above 2000°F
  • Relatively low modulus of elasticity as compared to its hot strength
  • Optimized high temperature >2000°F thermal cycling characteristics:
    • Higher % of strength, MOR & MOE retained after cycling
    • Excellent crack initiation and propagation resistance
  • Moderate thermal expansion
  • Superior hot loading resistance
    • Low TEUL (Thermal Expansion Under Load)
    • Very low Creep @ 2600°F
    • Excellent alkali vapor resistance

This castable differs from the very popular Plicast HyMOR® 3100 Special KK, Plicast HyMOR 70 KK, and Plicast Super HyMOR 65 KK due to its andalusite aggregate and matrix system.
